CIRD President Chi Fulin Attends the Government Work Report Presided over by Premier Li Keqiang

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang presided over a meeting with experts and business leaders on Monday, January 26th 2015 to seek opinions on the government work report, which will be officially unveiled in March. CIRD President Chi Fulin and other experts from universities, research and financial institutions, as well as business leaders from diversified sectors, including Internet, information technology and venture capital attended the meeting.   

On the meeting, researcher of Development Research Center of the State Council, Prof. Wu Jinglian, President of China Institute for Reform and Development, Prof. Chi Fulin and honorary research fellow of Counsellors’ Office of the State Council, Mr. Yao Jingyuan pointed out that against the background of economic slowdown, a part of enterprises are confronting the challenge of management difficulties, it will be better for them to endeavor to conduct reform to solve structural imbalance and to improve economic efficiency through developing high-end industries such as modern service sector, etc.   

Premier Li Keqiang said the government must capitalize on both government regulation and market force to make them twin engines for growth. China should accelerate the upgrading of traditional industries and the growth of emerging sectors and balance growth with restructuring to ensure medium-to-high speed of growth with higher quality, Li added.  

The meeting was also attended by vice premiers Zhang Gaoli, Liu Yandong, Wang Yang, Ma Kai and state councilors Yang Jing and Wang Yong.
