Workshop on Rural Development against the Background of International Financial Crisis

On 21 Feb. 2009, under the support of Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Hainan Province R.P. China and British Consulate-General Guangzhou, CIRD hold the workshop on Rural Development against the Background of International Financial Crisis.


More than 40 Chinese and foreign experts participate. They are from Development Research Center of the State Council, China National School of Administration, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Department of Agriculture of Hainan Province, Department of Commerce of Hainan Province, Research Center of Public Policy of CIRD, Center of Hainan Reform and Development of CIRD, University of Hongkong, University of Nottingham etc.. The topics include the development of small cities/towns and non-agricultural industries in the context of the international financial crisis, speeding up equalization of urban-rural basic public services, increasing rural residents' income, stimulating rural consumption, expanding domestic demand etc..
